Many Uses of Dental Crowns

Posted .

When you have cosmetic or physical problems with your teeth, you have a wealth of restoration options from which you can choose. One of the most popular is dental crowns, and today we’ll take a look at why, when, and how they’re used.

-You need to protect a weak tooth from tooth decay or from breaking.
-You need to restore a tooth that has been broken or worn down.
-You need to cover and support a tooth that has a large filling but doesn’t have enough tooth structure to hold it.
-You need to hold a dental bridge in its place.
-You need to disguise a tooth that is extremely misshapen or discolored.
-You need to cover a dental implant.
-You need to improve the appearance of your smile.

A tooth with a dental crown can still decay and get gum disease. Make sure you practice good oral hygiene. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss at least once a day (especially around your crown). Visit our office at least twice a day for professional cleanings and exams.
